The Bama-Q Pros fired up their grills and challenged their skills at the SCA Steak Cookoff in Montgomery, Alabama at the Bama-Q SLE Rodeo Steak Championship. More than 40 cooks competed for top honors in the steak challenge and some of them also served up a bacon ancillary on the side. Kristi Graham achieved one of her goals by taking first place in Steak for the first time. Two familiar Bama-Q faces, Brent Bourland and Morgan Cheek, placed in the top 10 in Steak! Brent cooked his way to 6 th place and Morgan took home 7 th place. Rylee Wright took first place in Bacon with her Cinnamon Roll Bacon Bread Pudding…yum!! Alabama Coasting, in partnership with Bama-Q Productions, is hosting the Bama-Q Steak Cook-Off Association (SCA) Challenge Series for 2021. The series will be filmed for the hit Food Reality show Bama-Q and streamed across Amazon Prime, Amazon Fire TV and Roku along with several broadcast tv outlets.
ReplyDeleteGrilling in the Caverns: An official Steak Cook-off Association event that draws cook teams from all over the South (and potentially beyond) working the grills and vying for cash, trophies, SCA points, and most importantly – bragging rights. This is a double competition which means the teams will have two chances to submit a winning steak and the prize purse is doubled. Grilling in the Caverns also includes an Ancillary Challenge where the grilling masters will submit their best seafood dish – featuring Alabama Gulf Shrimp.
Grilling in the Caverns is a family-friendly event and our hosts at Rickwood Caverns are organizing some fun, food-inspired events to complement the steak cook-off. While programming is still being finalized, expect delicious food offerings, cooking challenges and demonstrations and a local vendors’ market. A portion of all ticket sales as well as proceeds from a Bama-Q Raffle will be donated to Chlldrens Hospital of Alabama.
